Peruvian Yagua

The Yagua are an ancient tribe of Peruvian Indians, who live in the depths of the Amazon jungle. Ancestors of this indigineous people were cannibals.

As part of a GLEAN expedition to the Peruvian Amazon, Britnee Gauthier traveled to learn firsthand about this ancient people, hoping to gather a little wisdom from those who live and breathe the earth and all that she provides.

Read Britnee's comprehensive and insightful report on her impressions about this exotic people and her comparison of village and urban living: Life as a Yagua and Gender Roles.
