Western States Road Trip Focus of research: Women
In July 2007 the GLEAN team embarked on a two-week road trip to understand more fullyÑthrough interviews, oral stories, readings, documentary photography, nature, and our own journeyÑthe history and current reality of women in America. GLEAN students travelled through California, Nevada, Idaho, Colorado, Montana, and Idaho.
We visited people, such as politicians, house wives, waitresses, cosmetic counter saleswomen, writers, professors, rangers, and activists to learn through their own stories what they think about women, about being women, and women's issues today.
GLEAN is planning another road trip, this time to woman in the outreaches of Ireland, England, and, perhaps, Scotland, to interview and film them to learn their thoughts on being a woman.
